Liturgical Resources

Clergy in the Episcopal Church vow to uphold the doctrine, discipline, and worship of the Episcopal Church. Part of this vow includes using liturgical materials approved by the Episcopal Church, or locally by the Bishop.

If you have a question about whether something is authorized, you can go to www.episcopalcommonprayer.org where all authorized liturgies are listed, along with the level of authorization. (This will be updated by January 1, 2025, with new authorizations from the 2024 General Convention)

Beyond those liturgies generally authorized by the Church, Bishop Reddall has authorized the following for use within the Diocese of Arizona in any congregation: 

At services that are not the primary worship service on Sunday, Bishop Reddall is happy to have congregations utilize additional liturgies, such as those from the New Zealand Book of Common Prayer, the Iona Community, and other resources. 

Clergy wishing to use a liturgy other than those authorized above for the primary worship service on Sunday should request permission from the Bishop.
