“EYE was by far one of the most impactful faith experiences I’ve ever had. Whether it was the relationships I made with fellow students, being surrounded by leaders and people who bring worship to new heights, or the experience of traveling to a new city and the wonder that comes with it. To this day I glimpse back to my time there and am reminded of how much that experience changed my life for the better. I can still feel the energy of being in a concert hall with 1000 other Episcopalians singing my heart out, and nothing will quite live up to that. I highly recommend if you have ANY interest whatsoever in going to the Episcopal Youth Event to apply. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grow as a person in faith.”
~Ira Stokes, EYE17 participant, St. Peter’s, Litchfield Park
Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) is an international youth event convened by The Episcopal Church so “that the energy of the youth of the Episcopal Church can continue to be utilized in active ministry as members of the Body of Christ.” (From General Convention Resolution #1982-D079.) EYE is the single greatest event the Episcopal Church does! It consists of around 2000 people, including high school students, their adult mentors, and bishops from around the church, who all stay on a college campus in a great location and learn, laugh, and serve.
Time was spent in worship (amazing, awesome, and very memorable worship), large group presentations, small group discussions, workshops on a variety of topics (youth select the workshops they wish to attend), and a lot of time hanging out and meeting people from around the world.
