becoming beloved community now, sacred ground, antiracism

Purpose: Pathways for Engaging in Anti-Racism Initiatives is designed to provide an understanding, self-examination, and spiritual awakening grounded in our Baptismal Covenant into issues of racism. The training will “strengthen our life together as a denomination that understands the intricate ways in which the sin of racism infects individuals, congregations, and communities.” (GC 2018- A044).

Our next cohort for 2024 will be held via Zoom on

November 9th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

with a follow up on November 22nd from 6:00 to 8:45 pm

You will also be asked to complete a small amount of coursework via ChurchNext. That login information will be sent out after your training day, before you meet for a 1/2 day follow up about a month later.

All new and current Clergy, Wardens, and Vestry & Bishop Committee Members must take either the Anti-Racism course or show proof of completion of the Sacred Ground program. If you have any new Vestry or Bishop Committee members, or New Senior & Junior Wardens, they MUST complete one of the two. Space is limited and valuable, so please sign up soon, but only after looking at your calendar. We cannot guarantee you another space if you cancel. Cancellations also restrict someone else from utilizing that spot.

We highly recommend that you have a reliable internet connection, and that the main device you use is a laptop or desktop computer so that you can view all the participants with your Video on. However, please have a separate device available, such as a cell phone or tablet, to answer questions via another app or screen.  If you don’t have another device, we will accept your responses through the private Chat feature on Zoom.

If you have questions, email antiracism@azdiocese.org. Thank you!
