Workshops for the Day of the Dead (in English)

“From Roman Catacombs to our days:
remembering and evoking the dead”

The nature of our faith is remembrance in love. Every Sunday Eucharist is to remember Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Sacraments are visible signs that evoke our memories and replenish us with spiritual gifts.

On this October 14th, we will explore the historical development of rites of remembrance of the departed. Starting with rites from the Early Church to current traditions like the Day of the Dead which is celebrated in some of our communities. We invite you to participate so you can make this
important Christian feast relevant again, to the living and to the dead. “We will say their names and remember their lives.”

The morning session will include Morning prayer and lectures. Lunch will be provided. The afternoon is dedicated to small groups to do artwork and design the elements for the Ofrendas (altars of the dead).

Registration: $20
The registration fee covers material and lunch.
