The Rev. Sally Niles has answered the Call to lead as the Director of the Deacon Formation Academy. After 8 years, The Rev. Dr. Robin Hollis will step aside effective with the Jan. 20, 2024, Diaconate Ordination. Deacons Sally and Robin will continue to transition through the remainder of 2023.
The Venerable Amy Bryan shares, “We are truly blessed and thrilled to have Deacon Sally answer the Call. With the change in the length of our Diocesan Deacon Formation to 3 years and the move to diaconal ordination to January, this will allow for an effective and efficient transition”.
Deacon Robin will continue actively serving at St. Stephen’s in Phoenix, along with her roles on Standing Committee and the Anti-Racism Committee. More recently, Deacon Robin and Rev. Scott Deasy will now lead the Justice and Peace Network for Province VIII.
Deacon Sally will continue to serve as a Deacon at St. Matthew’s in Chandler. By vocation, Deacon Sally has worked as a Board-Certified Music Therapist in both academic settings (ASU School of Music Faculty Associate / Pre-Clinical Supervisor) and with behavioral health systems in the Valley.
