A Veteran Ministry Call to Action!

Calling parishes & volunteers to assist with the “Feed the Vets” Ministry at the new US Vets Housing Center in Phoenix!

In late May 2023, the US Vets Center Grand Village, which houses disabled veterans, homeless veterans & veterans in need in the Phoenix area will relocate from Grand Avenue in west Phoenix to a new & much larger facility near I-17 and Cactus Road in Phoenix.

The good news is that this new US Vets housing facility will have to double the capacity to house veterans in need, going from approximately 170 veterans to now over 300 veterans, which is nearly double the capacity!

However, for the five Episcopal parishes that have been serving in this ministry for the past 8 – 9 years, the challenge now is to be able to serve hot meals to double the number of veterans before.

Thus, this call to action!

More Phoenix-area Episcopal parishes & volunteers are needed to partner with / serve the “Feed the Vets” ministry at the new US Vets Center!

This is an excellent opportunity for your parish to get involved in Veteran Ministry and assist those who have given so much in service to our country!

Special thanks to the “Feed the Vets” volunteers at All Saints of the Desert Sun City, St John the Baptist in Glendale, St Andrew’s in Glendale, St Peter’s in Litchfield Park, and Advent Episcopal Church in Sun City West for their continued support of this vital ministry.

And thank you everyone for your consideration & assistance in this vitally important ministry!
