Church of the Nativity kicks off its New Veteran Ministry!

There was much excitement Sunday, March 5th at Church of the Nativity in north Scottsdale, as they held their Outreach Ministry Fair and celebrated starting their new Veteran Ministry.   Fr. Scott McComas, Rector at Nativity feels strongly about supporting & honoring our veterans in the community & knows the value of having a veteran / military ministry.  There are over half a million veterans in Arizona, over 20,000 service members currently serving on active duty, over 14,000 serving in the Reserves & National Guard, & thousands of military family members, Gold Star families, Military Retirees & DOD employees in Arizona.

This past year, the Diocesan Veteran Ministry Team has been working behind the scenes in assisting Nativity in this process, connecting them with various non-profits, people & organizations that serve & assist veterans & military members & families.  Rector Fr. Scot invited the Diocesan Veteran Ministry Team to Nativity’s Outreach Ministry Sunday, Rev. Laura Adelia, Missioner for Veteran & Military Ministry gave the sermon.  In between services the Team set up a table, & met & spoke with many of the parishioners at Nativity.
