Dear Friends of Cruzando Fronteras,
I am writing with an urgent request for your financial help to continue the mission of Cruzando Fronteras and our partner shelter, La Casa de Misericordia y De Todas Naciones migrant shelter in Nogales, Sonora. To date, CF has enabled over 1,600 women, children, men, and families to take the next step in their asylum process. Many have moved from despair and danger toward a safer and more hopeful future. Your support has been and continues to be pivotal for this mission. However, CF is at a critical financial juncture and without your help, we will have to scale back our support to continue providing shelter, basic needs, and support to the residents of La Casa de Misericordia. Our commitment remains to support the work of welcoming our migrating neighbor, especially in a season when many nonprofits are feeling the effects of the current financial climate. Any amount of support you can provide will go directly to ensure that migrants at La Casa continue to receive the vital services they need. We don’t have extra money at this time but we do have a room in our house. We have a 13 year old daughter, a dog, and a cat. Is there some way we can house unaccompanied minors while they wait to reunite with family here in the US?
