The Bishop’s E-pistle: Diocesan Convention Approaches!

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at our Diocesan Convention next weekend. Two practical notes involving changes in convention procedures this year:

On Friday afternoon, we will be having structured conversations at tables in the Crescent Ballroom for delegates and in the Crestview room for visitors and guests. Be prepared to share stories about your congregation and community, and how you “walk in love” with Jesus both as an individual and as a church.

There will be no speeches on Saturday afternoon from any of the candidates; all candidates — including those planning to be nominated from the floor — will have the opportunity to share their vision and story at the Friday morning Pre-Convention Workshop: Candidate Forum at 10:30 a.m.

Thank you in advance to all the volunteers who will make our convention possible. It takes a great cloud of witnesses to get our visitors and delegates registered, plan and lead worship, and facilitate table conversations. I know the Holy Spirit will be with us every step of the way.
