The Bishop’s E-pistle: Send a Child to Camp!

I spent 24 hours last week at our beautiful diocesan camp, Chapel Rock. More than 13,000 people per year attend programs at Chapel Rock, including year-round science programs for children, and our own Summer Camps for children, youth, and families this June and July. Registration is open now; look at Chapel Rock’s website to see the program descriptions.

There are 150 children and youth who want to attend camp this summer, but do not yet have “camperships.” Out of 21,000 Episcopalians in Arizona I am CONFIDENT we have 150 people willing to send a child to camp in 2019. I just made my donation, which means we only have 149 to go! Camp costs $400 per child–please consider a gift to send a child to camp. Donations can easily be made electronically.

Camp offers children adventure, independence, faith formation, and a deeper relationship with friends, Jesus, and the church. I never want us to turn away a child from camp. Please join me!
